"The Post-Apocalyptic Kids" is a deeply personal and introspective series that delves into the lives of black children who have endured and survived an apocalyptic event. Through this body of work, I explore the imagined future where these resilient young individuals navigate a world forever altered by the aftermath. Each child portrayed in the series embodies a distinct identity and bears the marks of their experiences in this new realm. As they adapt to their surroundings, they embark on a journey of self-discovery, grappling with their own identities and exploring the possibilities that this transformed world holds for them. Through this series, I aim to provoke contemplation on themes of resilience, adaptation, and the inherent strength and potential within the next generation.
